The Mein Freiburg Marathon is a road running event held in Freiburg im Breisgau, a provincial yet lively university city of about 230,000 people, located in the state of Baden-Württemberg in the south-western corner of Germany.
Several races are available:
- 400m-1.1km Mini-Marathon (kids' run, on Saturday)
- 10km
- 21.1km Halbmarathon (half marathon)
- 21.1km Schülermarathon (half marathon relay race for teams of seven young athletes)
- 42.2km Marathon
- 42.2km Marathonstaffel (marathon relay race for teams of four runners)
All races begin and end at the Messe Freiburg trade fair grounds in the northern part of the city.
The full marathon is two laps of a scenic round trip through different parts of Freiburg which nestles at the foot of the Schwarzwald (Black Forest) mountain range.
The course is gently undulating.
