The Kahlenberglauf is a very scenic multi-terrain hill running race held annually since 1990 on the northern outskirts of Wien (Vienna), capital city of Austria.

Elite athletes and fun runners from all over the globe have taken part in the 8.4km race which begins at the marina in Kahlenbergerdorf on the right bank of the River Danube and ends at the transmission tower on the summit of the Kahlenberg (pictured).

The route includes 490 metres of ascent and 196 metres of descent.

After the race, participants can take a shorter route to get back down to the award ceremony in Kahlenbergerdorf.
